With sweeping innovation, fiber optics has positively transformed the lighting industry. Made up of only three basic components: Illuminator (light source), fiber optic cable and optional light fixtures, fiber optics literally pipes light evenly through PMMA cables from a singular light source (illuminator) and is used to accent light specific objects (fixture).

Light emitting fiber optic cables emit no heat, electricity or ultra violet rays. Moreover fiber optics are flexible, clear, cold resistant and non-breakable, and since only one light source (illuminator) is used for multiple points of light, this alone not only makes for safer illumination but a highly energy efficient and cost effective light alternative.

Traditionally in pools it has been the standard offer a 12 volt underwater light to be installed when constructing an inground pool. Aqua-Blue now installs Fiber Optic lights exclusively, for several reasons. As outlined below, light travels through the cable which eliminates any chance of electrical current to be in contact with the pools body of water. Also when the light bulb needs to be replaced you do not have to disassemble a water proof gasket and struggle over the side of the pool trying to replace the bulb, with fiber optic lights it is as easy as replacing a bulb in your home.
